My boyfriend takes me here every year for our anniversary. The chili and cottage cheese appetizers always Devine and are promptly delivered by the maitre'd. The skinny fries and Frisco melts are always cooked to complete perfection by the chef. And the milkshakes are as close to heaven on earth as I will ever get. I look forward to this every year!!!

I've been there once and will never return. The drive thru got my order wrong and when I asked them to correct it, the manager said that he couldn't, because corporate would think he's doing something shady... Lol okayyyyy.

This is a really awesome hamburger restaurant. The burgers are very good, the fires are think and crispy, and the milkshakes are fantastic. There are too many different varieties to list here, but I simply order the double cheeseburger, fries, and a Diet Coke. I like the retro theme, the service is always excellent and they even have a drive thru. Try the fresh chocolate cookies if they are coming out of the oven. The funny thing is that a McDonalds is about 100 yards away - but this place is about 100x better.

So disappointed. I haven't eaten here for years and was not what I remembered! The drive thru was horrible. I made a simple order of grilled cheese, fries, and a shake. The grilled cheese was so greasy, it went thru the paper immediately. Soggy. Gross. The fries. I order with no salt because I'm not into salty fries and it usually results in a fresh batch. They were not even warm. The banana shake was the only item I enjoyed. It was freshly made and met expectations. I really think they need to look into their quality at this location. The employees should look in the bag and say, would I enjoy this? If it's no, start over. There are tons of choices in the area, so they shouldn't mess around.

Not many 24hr places near Boca; this is decent for the genre, though we did not sample a lot of items. I usually like big potato filled steak fries, but their skinny fries did hit the spot, and tasted better than Mickey-D's or BK fries. We had the Veggie sandwich and it was truly pretty good; portobello, avocado, tomato and onion. The shakes, while not amazing (I'm from NYC so I've had some pretty good shakes) were pretty good. Kitschy 1950s soda-hop decor was cute, and the staff was very nice.

Ok can't give a steak and shake 5 stars cause hey it's fast food. But I can say we walked our of another restaurant and came here. We were seated promptly to a clean table, a polite young man introduced himself and promptly took our drink order. Returned with drinks took our order served us with the correct food to the proper person. Checked on us regularly. Check out was seamless. A very well run restaurant.

Normally, I get a drive-in grilled chicken sandwich, love the service and quality of food, and would have previously ranked Steak & Shake with a 3-star (couldn't give them a 4-star because of their lack of interest in healthy menu options). Today, I tried the new fish sandwich which squashed a good portion of the brand value that I have for Steak & Shake. The fish batter left a bitter aftertaste, and most of the sandwich was fried batter with overcooked clumpy fish. I would love to have a fish option at Steak & Shake - but this was certainly not it.

Since I'm from the DC area, I've never heard of Steak N Shake, but my friend from Delray swore it was good! I ordered a hot dog and fries. The hot dog was standard (good enough for fast food), but the fries were terrible. They are these small, thin little straws. Blech. I don't expect 5 star service at 5:30 in the morning (let's get real - they do not want to be working at that hour) but the guy that helped me in the drive through was terrible. He would tell us he's ready for our order and as soon as we started, he would tell us to hold on every second. It literally took 15 minutes to take our order that wasn't even that big. I would not come back.

Like Bill S. says- McDonalds is literally 100 yards away but Steak and Shake blows it out the water. I stopped in after doing some Saturday morning shopping and went for the single cheeseburger, fries and sweet tea. The burger was flavorful and the entire meal was quite filling without being questioning. Planning to stop in for one of their famous shakes...very soon!

This place really does not have any idea on how to work efficiently. I drive thru the drive Thu at 2030 and have to wait 20 min. to get my order. Not only did I have to wait I get all the way back to my hotel and after explaining to the person taking my order NO CHEESE! I get CHEESE on my burger. I can not eat CHEESE so I was not driving 15 min back to get another but based on this 1 st time visit I will not return. FYI to the mgr/owner I eat out everyday 3 times a day for th next 90 days but I will not be returning based on customer service and lack of responsibility if the person/people taking your order.

Giving two stars only because we've been Steak 'n Shake fans since our kids went to UF. But...stopped at this one today and probably experienced the worst service known to man. Our "fast food" was the slowest I ever experienced. We stopped there because we were in a hurry. It would have been quicker to have had a gourmet lunch on the beach. Very disorganized. I guess lunch came as a surprise. I would not have been so critical if I hadn't heard from friends that this was their experience too.

It's Steak and Shake, what can go wrong? Good, affordable food. Probably the cheapest meal during our whole vacation, and just as satisfying as the $450 ticket we rung up at JB's on the beach. Don't get me wrong, not the same experience, I'm only saying we walked away just as happy. :) Our waitress seemed a bit spacy, not seating us until the gal behind the register told her to. Then asked us if we wanted kid menus. The kids are 6 and 10, of course we do. Then didn't bring the crayons or other kid stuff until asked. Other than that, standard S&S fare, always good and always topped off with some great ice cream treats. We had the slaw dog, frisco and a couple kids meals, all very good!

Another great experience today, had to use the Drive Thru, but that good looking Patrick was at the window, making it all just perfect. Great value, great food, great service... YUM!

Don't know what other people are talking about when they say it took forever to get served. We came in for a late night tasty burger and got it served to the table within five minutes of ordering it. The Oreo shake was delicious, the fries were crispy and hot and even got a salad as a side. Had a coupon so got a burger two sides and a shake for six bucks. Can't beat that! We will be back again for sure. Probably after midnight of course when the burgers or even tastier!

I fsking love Steak 'n Shake. Hardcore. So hardcore that my brother and I sort of snuck here in lieu of having a fairly nice dinner with my grandfather. And it was *totally* worth it. Living in New York is awesome, except for the part that the closest Steak 'n Shake is in Ohio or something. And while I usually dislike chain restaurants, in this case, I was so happy to get exactly what I wanted. Well, pretty much what I wanted... I got a double steakburger, no cheese, with that mustard/relish mix on it, onions, lettuce and extra pickles, fries and an orange freeze. They got the order perfect. But exactly what I wanted would have been a lime freeze. And they've been discontinued. The bastards.

I went there earlier this week. They were definitely not on their "A" game. There was a dead fly on our table, a human hair in my son's milk, my orange juice glass had something sticky on the bottom and many of the tables were not cleaned. This was at about 10:00am with only 3 tables seated.

Greasy burgers but great after late night drinking. The super thin fries are good with the melted cheese. I like that they have thousand island dressing for the burgers. They do take forever to make the food and I think the people who work there hate their jobs. You order through the drive thru and pay, then they make you drive up and wait for them to bring you the food which takes about 10 minutes when you are the only customer. Their shakes are pretty good though. You can pick 2 flavors and they will put each flavor on each side of the cup without mixing them all up. Too bad they're like 1,000 calories and 125g of carb! Ouch!
